The Fourth of July in Hampton Roads is always a blast!

If you are new to the Norfolk/Virginia Beach metropolitan area and have spent time searching for homes in Norfolk, you have likely wondered what to expect this summer, we can tell you the answer is: plenty! This is the place to be once school is out and the roads open to the influx of beachcombers. Norfolk especially is jumping with Tides baseball and hot summer movies at the MacArthur Center. Yet, we always look forward to the 4th of July because fireworks literally light up the Eastern seaboard with different areas of town showing off brilliant displays. Buy a Virginia Beach condo, and you can walk to the shore to see the action!

As for where and when to be, here are a few favorite annual events:

Big 4th of July Picnic: Town Point Park in downtown Norfolk’s big annual party! Gorge on hots dogs and hamburgers, enjoy live music, and marvel at the fireworks display off the Elizabeth River.

Stars and Stripes Explosion: Down on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, there are four stages of live music, food and craft vendors, and miles of beach for the perfect day out.

Fourth at the Fort: At Fort Monroe, visitors come for rides and games, great food and military exhibits, and of course the most awesome fireworks display on the Upper Peninsula!

Wherever you go in Hampton Roads to celebrate the day, be safe and have a great time!
